Keuka Lake
DID YOU KNOW?
Grape production around Keuka Lake, for wine production and eating, began in about 1840. Early European settlers called the lake “Crooked Lake” because of its shape. The name was changed to “Lake Keuka” in the late 1860s because grape growers did not want their business dealings to be associated with the word “crooked.”
